Welcome to our office. We would like to take a moment to explain our philosophy of orthodontics and how we treat out patients. Orthodontics is a special branch of dentistry that requires careful diagnosis of a specific problem, followed by a coordinated treatment effort between the orthodontist and the patient.
Cooperation is the key word. Orthodontics is the only branch of dentistry where the results that are gained, the time involved in treatment, and the success or failure of that treatment, is not entirely in the doctors' hands. We are dependent on our patients for their help. In other words, braces are not magic. They do not work by themselves.
Our philosophy is a simple one. We treat all our patients as if they were members of our own family. All the work that is directly related to the professional part of your orthodontic care will be handled only by Dr. Erkis or Dr. Hickman. Your diagnostic records are reviewed and studied by the doctor. Your orthodontic bands will be placed only by your orthodontist. Dental assistants are not allowed to fit or cement bands, or bend orthodontic arch wires in our office. We believe this is a doctor's responsibility.
Our goal is to provide the best possible orthodontic care, with the most sincere personalized attention. Feel free to call us at any time if you have a real emergency. We care about you and it is our hope that your treatment will progress as smoothly and as successfully as possible. We want you to look forward to your visits to our office because we look forward to seeing you.
